HELP WANTED: Executive Director

Indianapolis’ fastest-growing arts organization is looking to grow, and would like your help in finding the perfect fit.
The Circle City Chamber Group is currently seeking individuals interested in helping us continue to bring new audiences to the visual, culinary and musical arts, and leading our efforts to secure a future for the city’s arts community as our Executive Director. With our innovative approach to organizational structure, as well as presenting the arts in an entirely new and interactive way, we are looking for energetic people who are looking to make a difference in this new group that has already made a name for itself as an up-and-coming force in the arts community of Indianapolis.
This position will allow for extensive networking possibilities for the selected applicant, creating great opportunities to build his/her rolodex. As the Circle City Chamber Group is a ground-breaking organization, so is this position, with its flexibility in hours and requirement for out-of-the-box thinking – a true opportunity to create and develop new ideas in marketing/advertising, fund raising, online networking, and community relations, all with the full support of the Board of Directors.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Executive Director will work with a growing staff of dedicated volunteers to bring more attention to the Group’s efforts and events. The Executive Director will be responsible for:
- Work to promote the CCCG’s efforts, artists, events, and mission throughout the city
- Work with Artistic staff, local educational and professional institutions and organizations to create events and community/educational outreach opportunities
- Fundraising and development
- Coordinate and oversee the activities of the volunteer staff as they work in the areas of marketing, advertising, and online-social networking
- Maintain open communications with current sponsors, donors, and advertisers while working to find more potential avenues of capital contributions
- Report to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director will develop and monitors organization operations and campaigns, and maintain a master calendar of events and campaigns in coordination with the group’s concert/event schedule
Requirements:
- Passion for the arts and a desire to see them thrive in Indianapolis
- Outstanding communication skills, particularly in writing and public speaking
- Strong interpersonnal and leadership skills, necessary to successfully work with and manage volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and media professionals.
- Ablity engage our incredibly diverse Indianapolis community
- Previous experience in the arts and/or business administratiom
o Applicants who have recently graduated, or near graduation, from an accredited program are strongly encouraged to apply (see below for additional required application materials) - Working knowledge of major online social networking sites (i.e. Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Regular access to a computer and the internet
Compensation: Currently, this is a volunteer position.
