DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR SEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT

The Circle City Chamber Group – an Indianapolis-based 501(c)(3) arts organization – is currently seeking individuals interested in helping us continue to bring new audiences to the visual, culinary and musical arts, and leading our efforts to secure a future for the city’s arts as our Development Coordinator.  The ideal candidate is an energetic, creative, and interesting person, looking to make a difference with this new group that has already made a name for itself as an up-and-coming force in the arts community of Indianapolis.

This position will allow for extensive experience in fundraising, while also allowing for new and creative avenues to seek out and secure funding for our events and projects.  Working with a flexible schedule and a requirement for out-of-the-box thinking, the Board of Directors are ready to fully support a promising candidate who is eager to help us continue to become a major voice within the arts community.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible and accountable for the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of an overall fundraising program, consistent with the needs and goals of the Circle City Chamber Group.  To that end, the Development Director manages the staff and volunteers in planning and executing all aspects of our fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide impetus and support to the fundraising efforts of the Board and the Executive Director.  Provide timely and accurate reports to the Executive Director and the Board.
  • Design and implement strategies to achieve or exceed annual fundraising goals.  S/he will manage the application and reporting processes for all government, corporate and foundation grants. S/he will ensure proper record-keeping and stewardship of all gifts from individuals and institutions.
  • Report to the Executive Director.  The Development Coordinator will develop and monitors budgets for and maintain a master calendar of fundraising events and campaigns in coordination with the group’s concert/event schedule.
  • Responsible for drafting outreach letters to current individual donors and corporate sponsors, while continuing to research and secure new avenues of capital contributions


Hours:   10-12 hours a week

Compensation:  Compensation commensurate with experience. 

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within the fields of arts administration and/or development
  • Applicants who have recently graduated, or near graduation, from an accredited program are strongly encouraged to apply (see below for additional required application materials)
  • Love for the arts and a desire to see them thrive in Indianapolis
  • Understand and embrace the ideals and unique mission statement of the Circle City Chamber Group
  • Background in fundraising and development field
  • Working knowledge of major online commerce tools (i.e. PayPal, website ecommerce, etc.), and electronic bookkeeping programs.
  • Regular access to a computer and the internet
  • Team-leadership skills and the ability to work with volunteers, donors, sponsors, and media
  • Strong letter writing/correspondence skills
